Phuket

Patong Bay, off Phuket, Thailand

Morning walk along beach in rain. . . great Thai coffee and new fruit for me - Keau mangkom. . .conversations with Thai shopkeepers Mari-Am and Rocky, who survived Tsunami. . . lunch in fabuous restaurant by the beach - Baan Rim Pa. Another place to revisit.... This part of the world, from disciplined Singapore to warm Patong Beach, is a land on the rise.

Lois, what a time we live in -- being a traveler in the part of the world that we (USA) fought in and we(in our youth and the '60's) took to the streets to get our troops out. What feelings and emotions you must have experienced. We are having a late spring as our Camelia are still blooming (a month late) and we are alternating between summer and cool. You are going though so many climate changes in your travels which I'm sure has your internal weather system confused -- is it Summer? or Winter? or Spring? I, loving maps, for their visual reference, I hope there is a globe on board to get yet another reference point to your travel distances (as well as to the name changes of the countries since we studied them in school??).
